More Youth News

Junior Sunday Fun and Coaching session was very well attended on 20th June, with some new faces who had just completed their Stage 2 joining the familiar faces. The aim of the session was to practise downwind technique, including gybing. After an informative brief the intrepid sailors took to the water. Winds were on the strong side, and in usual Hawley fashion from every direction, but despite this everyone coped really well with only one capsize – remarkable and better than the adults who followed.
A big reminder about the Fun and Friendly Meet against Horseshoe Lake SC on 31st July. This will be a fun morning of easy racing and competitive games for all abilities, against another local club. If anyone is unsure on the water we will try to team up with a more experienced helm. Craft: teras and toppers. Bring family and a picnic or get lunch from Sparky. Register interest with Michelle or any of youth team via the office. Or just turn up on the day. Usual timings: turn up before 10:00hrs (more promptly than usual) to rig. Brief 10:20hrs. On water 10:30/10:45hrs for a good hour of fun.
Lastly, look out for details of the Youth Regatta on 3rd September: The Rio Olympics Come to Hawley:
