Racing pages

Welcome to the website for our racing community. We aim to keep it relevant and up to date. Please let us know if you find any problems in using it, especially any broken links, or if you have ideas for additional content.

You will probably find that most of your visits to the site are for checking on the racing news and results, but you can also find background information on other topics of interest. On each page, the tabs along the top lead to a selection of related pages, or you can see the full list in the Site Map.

There are simplified explanations of the racing rules; how we apply the handicaps and how we work out the scores for races, series and annual championships.

If you are going to do a Race Officer duty, you can get a reminder of how to go about each stage of the job.

For our more recently qualified members, there are some hints about how to sail more effectively, and how to improve your positions in the racing. (And any additional suggestions from experienced members will be gratefully received.)

And of course there are hundreds of photos in the gallery, taken over the last several years.

Racing programme

We are well into the 2024 programme, which you can see HERE. With the change to British Summer Time, we have moved onto three races each Sunday; and Friday evening racing runs from April 19th until early September. There are also special events spread over the year, including the Comet class open meeting on May 5th.
